MFB Firefighter Recruitment

This is Brent Clayton from Fire Recruitment Australia with a firefighter recruitment update for 2017.

If you’re looking to get a job as a firefighter with the Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) in Victoria,  you’ll be happy to hear that the recruitment is going to commence early this year. MFB has yet to confirm the exact date so make sure to check their official website regularly.

If you believe that you have what it takes, I suggest you start your preparation now and sharpen your skills if you want to land a position for the MFB.

I can’t stress this enough but only those who put in the effort and time will be successful as it will be quite very competitive.

If you need resources, one-on-one coaching, or even just tips, just leave a comment and I’ll point you out to the right direction.

Best of luck on your journey.

    Hi Brett,
I’m looking at applying for mfb in Feb, last year I was unsuccessful in the apptitude test. Could you point me in the right direction for extra help?

    • Hi Mitch,

If it just the aptitude side of things that has been dragging you down, that can be easily addressed.

The key to smashing the aptitude test is practice. In this case, here are 2 options that you can use as great resources for your preparation.
      1. Aptitude Course

This will give you access to the aptitude testing website which has service specific questions and tutorial videos. It is a great stand-alone platform where you can practice on your own at your most convenient time.

      2. Aptitude Coaching Program

This is simply the aptitude course with the addition of in-person coaching. This will give you premium access to our online aptitude tests plus 4 coaching sessions with our aptitude specialist. The coaching may be done online or in-person whichever you prefer.

You can enroll in the course or the program here:

Let me know if you have further questions.

Looking getting out of defence and maybe into MFB

  • Pedro Ferreira

    Hi Brent,
I am in a transition phase from my current career in Banking and Finance, and have always been interested in pursuing a career as a Firefighter. Other than being physically fit and of course having the right aptitude for the role, could you please confirm what if any physical impairments would prevent someone from being accepted ie. previous injuries etc..

Also, when will the recruitment in Victoria be likely to commence?

    Thank you,
